Description	The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has received funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to help to complete upgrades at Inks Dam National Fish hatchery. Upgrades will allow the hatchery to breed more fish, harvest the fish in a more cost-effective manner, and operate more safely and efficiently.. The planned projects include an energy efficiency makeover, rehabilitation of three of the hatchery’s 28 ponds, and installation of a new filtration system. Inks Dam National Fish Hatchery was established over 70 years ago and serves the dual purposes of protecting endangered/ threatened species and breeding sportfish for distribution to Native American tribes throughout the Southwest. Currently, Inks Dam NFH breeds Channel Catfish, Paddlefish, Gulf Striped Bass, and Large-Mouthed Bass for distribution and works to protect the endangered Clear Creek Gambusia.
