USFWS National Digital Library Privacy Policy

In accordance with the Department of the Interior Privacy Policy and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Privacy Policy the National Digital Library is committed to maintaining a web site that protects the individual’s right to privacy. We do not require personal information from our visitors, nor do we collect any personally identifying information (name, email address, Social Security number, or other unique identifier) unless you knowingly provide it. Likewise, we do not give, sell, or transfer any personal information to a third party except as might be required by law.

USFWS National Digital Library Use of Persistent Cookies

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service National Digital Library uses "persistent cookie" technology. A persistent cookie is a small text file that this website places on your computer so that it can remember details about your previous session when you return to the site. We use persistent cookies for the Favorites and Preferences features, both of which may enhance your experience while using the Library web site. This information does not include any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) that identifies who you are. It includes only information that you choose when using Preferences or Favorites.

Preferences are choices that you make that tailor the color, layout, sort order, and other user-definable choices according to how you choose to organize and view the search or browse displays.

Favorites allow you to choose one or more items and identify them as items you want to refer to later. Favorites allow you to tailor a unique collection of items that you build during multiple sessions. Items saved as a favorite in one session will be remembered in subsequent sessions.

Most Internet browsers automatically accept persistent cookies. Although the use of persistent cookies allows you to use the Favorites and Preferences features this site will work without them. However, without persistent cookies you will not be able to take advantage of the Favorites and Preferences capabilities.

If you don't want to accept cookies, you can edit your browser's options to stop accepting persistent cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit.
